Here's a great read (or series of reads) for all you SL exploring fans - a volcano (semi-affectionately nicknamed Phillip) has reared its smoking head and spouting maw above the waves off the coast of Caledon. A group of intrepid explorers have launched a scientific (and fame/bounty/thrill hungry) expedition to it's shores. For me the exciting thing is that there are 8 (likely 9 when some plot twists occur soon) separate writers each with their own unique style and viewpoint creating this story together, publishing their interlinked stories across 8 different blogs.
On top of being a ripping good yarn thus far (in my never truly humble opinion) it is also an experiment in collaborative fiction and ways to make Roleplay work more smoothly in SL.

I agree - it's a cracking idea! I'm really enjoying reading all the various versions of the same events and having run a pretty successful Cthulhu based Play-by-Email game in the past, I know just how hard, and how rewarding, it is co-ordinating and stitching together a collaborative text RP experience.
